What is Argentine Tango?

Tango Argentino is a dance which initially developed in southern America but which is danced today all over the world. In its essence it is a danced frame of communication and relationship.  From an individual autonomous point of departure the dancing partners meet each other in a sympathetic relatedness. Reciprocal presence, clarity, and intention are balanced in greatest possible mindfulness and empathy. It is an open frame which allows improvisation in every step.

Acknowledging the depth of the dance, the UNESCO inscribed Tango Argentino in 2009 on the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Thomas Falk

About the Instructor:

Thomas Falk

Thomas first started to dance Tango Argentino around 15 years ago and practiced it intensively in courses and milongas over the last four years. His main teachers were Rotraut and Ricardo el Holandes . Thomas loves Tango for its freedom to interpret the music, the delicate way of communication, its introverted meditative potential.Thomas Falk Milonga

Tango allowed him to have the most profound conversations with people from all around the world.

In his own words:  “Participants of the course will learn the basic principles of the dance. The focus will be on the philosophy and technique of Tango rather than figures.  We will exercise the particular way of standing, walking, leading and following.  This will enable the participants to dance in sensitive connection and is the fundamental basis for anything to be learned in future.”

Thomas, old sport, good luck for your course, which I’ll miss due to an also traditional thing called Osterhasenschule-Verbrennung 🙂
And also good luck by explaining how to practise correct “Burning down Easter bunny school!” in good old Weißenborn!
    Miss’n kiss,
